As a teacher I strive to develop in my students a thorough perception as well as self-confidence when answering exam questions and managing to tackle new issues. My viewpoint is actually based on the concept that learning occurs in an atmosphere of reciprocal respect in which the person is encouraged to think and make connections on their own. According to my experience one-to-one personal training has a distinct usefulness to students due to the option to resolve the scholars' personal difficulties to learning in a manner which lays the roots for a thorough and lasting comprehension of the theme.
Analytic thinking
My approach differs depending on the student's needs and learning style. My teaching ideology is built upon encouraging children to think for themselves, operating existing models whenever it can be. |My opinion is that it is critical to supply students with a working knowledge and to give them problem-solving abilities for development upon this knowledge. Directing a person to think critically is at the core of the things a person must take away from any subject training.
The role of mentoring
The most long-lasting contributions a tutor are able to bring in is coaching scholars, and it is a procedure, which I find pleasurable and rewarding. From my practice, I discovered the value of engaging students with the help of patterns and of delivering information at a level that assumes intelligence and yet not always knowledge, mixing the unknown with the known in a combination which provides the scholar the disposition of probability instead of that one of impossibility that authoritative and impressive methods can inflict.
My teaching tricks
I start from themes the scholars are familiar with and step progressively towards more complex parts seeing that their self-esteem is being developed. I use examples and questions to confirm comprehending permanently. I will not lecture to children or request them to memorise things. Neither do I carry out the students' home tasks for them!
I basically concentrate on exam-style or previous paper questions to test, exercise and perfect the learner's recognising and performance. I will also give a lot of emphasis to some of the not so vital but obvious abilities like logical thought, essay technique and structure, and the helpful use of graphs and numbers.
